WE ARE HERE FOR YOU!
We want to support people both inside the church and outside the church, through your personal connections and our community partnerships. There are three main areas that we are offering support during this current lock-down through our Covid-19 Response Fund.
FOOD
People may need food or other essential items but can’t access them for many different reasons. We want to deliver essential items to those who cannot get out due to ill health, age or childcare issues.
FRIENDS
Many people simply need a conversation, a listening ear, some practical support or prayer – anything a friend might do, we can help with! We want to offer any person who needs a connection the chance to join one of our online life groups, arrange for a friendly pastoral phone call or connect with the prayer team.
FINANCE
There will be many people worried about money due to changes in income, lost employment or many other issues related to the lockdown. We want to offer support when it comes to making sense of finances or needing to know what options they have in moving forward with finances. We would love to connect people to one of our financial coaches who can help with budgeting, avoiding going into debt and getting out of debt, or simply through a prayer of faith over the phone.
TRAINING
Many people have lost their jobs or businesses because of this we now have a training project ‘REBOUNCE PROJECT’. Through training the projects, we equip people with the skills and experience necessary to secure long-term and fulfilling employment in many sectors especially in the IT industry. We particularly focus on people with limited educational or employment opportunities, including those who have been affected by the COVID-19. We are committed to getting people into employment and to helping people to bounce back economically.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
We need you to help us help you, your world and our cities. Over the coming weeks and months, your help to support the community is vital. We want to encourage you in your response. Here are a few practical things that you can do: Connect and reach out to your immediate community. That might include conversations with neighbours, letters through the post-box or checking in with social media pages locally. Are there ways we as the church can get involved?
Where there is a need, consider if you are able to help practically with FRIENDSHIP, FOOD, FINANCE or TRAINING. Let us know if you would know of a need that we may be able to be part of the solution.
